Heat Pump Rebates

New federal and provincial funding is enabling key program enhancements:

• expanding program eligibility to add middle-income households;
• providing rebates for 100% of the cost of a new heat pump, up to a cap that varies by the type of heat pump (central, multi-split or mini-split).
• increasing the maximum rebate amount for heat pumps from $9,500 to $16,000.
• increasing the maximum rebate amount for electrical service upgrades needed to install a heat pump from $3,500 to $5,000.

Like the previous program, the new program is income-tested and maximum rebate amounts for heat pump installations vary with household income and size, as outlined in the link below:

Energy Savings Program – CleanBC Better Homes

Everyone deserves a healthy, comfortable, and energy-efficient home.

Up to $21,000 in rebates to upgrade to a qualified heat pump system

• Up to $16,000 in rebates to upgrade to qualified heat pump and
• Up to $5,000 for electrical upgrades

• The Home Renovation Rebate and Efficiency BC Program provides rebates for improving your home’s energy efficiency through select upgrades.
• Additional rebates that include heat pump and dual fuel upgrades

Municipal Rebate Top-Ups – CleanBC Better Homes

• A growing number of local governments in BC are offering top-up rebates to the CleanBC Rebate Programs.
• For a limited time, local governments in BC are offering top-up home rebates approved on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Canada Greener Homes Loan

• Up to $40,000 (minimum: $5,000)
• Repayment term: 10 years, interest-free
• Loan type: Unsecured personal loan on approved credit
